South Burlington, VT – On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, ICE conducted a federal immigration operation in South Burlington that involved ICE officers; members of South Burlington, Burlington, and Vermont State Police (VSP) forces; and, by mid-afternoon, several hundred protesters. While law enforcement representatives did obtain a judicial warrant to apprehend an individual, the person in question was NOT at that house, and was not one of the three ultimately removed from the residence.

Vermont Community Members Join Elders to Escalate with Large Sit-In at Williston ICE Data Office – 13 Protesters were Arrested

WILLISTON – Monday, Feb 9. At approximately 1:15pm, a group of 25 Vermont community members, mostly elders, entered White Cap office park, home of ICE’s National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center. They were accompanied by a small group consisting of legal observers, police liaisons, and media observers. The protesters are demanding that the landlord renegotiate and cancel the facility’s lease. They proceeded to sit and march in front of the ICE offices, singing protest songs and reading short details of some of the several people killed by ICE in recent weeks.

Vermont Community Elders Stage Sit-In at Williston ICE Office

WILLISTON – Thursday, Jan 22. At approximately 1pm, a group of about a dozen Vermont community elders with whistles entered the atrium of White Cap office park, home of ICE’s National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center. The group inside refused to leave when ordered by Williston Police, the property manager, and federal agents, demanding instead that the landlord renegotiate and cancel the facility’s lease. Outside the building, a small group of protesters held up a large “ICE OUT” banner.

Monteplier, VT (May 31, 2025) — On Saturday, 60-70 members and allies of Jewish Voice for Peace VT/NH marched in the rain through Montpelier calling for an end to the on-going Israeli starvation and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Marchers banged on empty pots and pans as a symbol of the empty food containers and bellies of millions, mostly children, who are being starved to death by the Israeli government. Some vendors and patrons joined in when the procession stopped to chant and sing in front of the Montpelier Farmers Market.

Rossi Alfaro Describes Vermont Farmworker Raid

Migrant Justice leader Rossi Alfaro describes the April 21 ICE raid on Vermont dairy workers at Pleasant Valley Farms. VT Digger reports 3 of those arrested, Luis Enrique Gomez-Aguiliar, 28; Urillas Sargento, 32; and Dani Alvarez-Perez, 22, were deported to Mexico without due process according to  their lawyer and he "did not believe any of the eight individuals arrested matched the identities of the two whom federal agents were initially investigating."
