VERMONT - For No Kings 3 on March 28, 2026, at least 8 million people came together across the country in the largest single-day nonviolent protest in modern American history. More than 3,300 locations participated, including 600 new locations in mostly rural, red communities. Over 200,000 people attended the flagship event in the Twin Cities. What an incredible day!
Vermonters turned out for over 55 events across the state. Approximately 40,000 people showed up for a “Rolling Resistance” bike ride from Barre to Montpelier, “rolling rally” car caravans from one small town event to the next, four converging marches in Burlington, and honk and waves on many street corners. There were speeches and singing, ringing of church bells and moments of silence for those who have died because of ICE, chanting and drumming, artist displays, crafts for kids, overpass banners, creative signs, local food vendors, and a joyful sense of community.
From Barre to Woodstock, Vermont is rising! The Nation is rising! Democracy, not thrones. Representational voting, not crowns. Creative community care, not kings. We have the power and are exercising it together. What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever. When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it.
Workers over Billionaires! No Kings! No Fascists! No War! No ICE! Our families are under attack. Our neighbors are under attack. Silence is NOT an option. We have been collaborating for over a year, building strength as neighbors, supporting and defending our communities against this administration’s illegal, unjust and cruel acts of violence. We are strong and joyful!
We stand with the working class who have been bearing the brunt of a decades-long project by the grossly rich to mine the wealth, health, and dignity of those of us who have much less. We are inspired by our transgender community members who, despite being labeled a terrorist threat by our federal government, show up and stand shoulder to shoulder with us. We show up for our hard-working immigrant neighbors who are being kidnapped and disappeared from a land that once stood as a symbol of hope and freedom to them and to the world. Our voices resound now and into the future because we face the storm together. We are Vermont strong.
