I love the content of this book, but I can't help but feel that the design of it would be off-putting to the very youths it could be most helpful to. Kids are joining the military because they see it as a well organized and established club that will help make them respected, responsible and will look out for their well being. While this impression is far from the reality of the military, I can't help but feel that a more slick and conventional design, instead of an "arty," warm-and-fuzzy, informal look, would make the book less easy for more conservative students to dismiss as a warm and fuzzy but unrealistic and impractical, guidance counselor-y waste of time.
